BRIEF
I led the design and development of the Snoopy fashion collection, drawing inspiration from vintage book covers to create a nostalgic and fun line. Collaborating with the renowned Peanuts brand, I carefully adhered to their guidelines for character placement and color selection. The aim was to craft a vibrant and playful collection that honored the brand identities of Cath Kidston and Snoopy, while meeting the satisfaction of both companies' directors.
ACTION
The iconic Snoopy character was skillfully integrated into Cath Kidston's archive florals, while adhering to Peanuts' guidelines. Tonal prints and vintage book cover-inspired color blocking highlighted Snoopy's presence, while positive text elements reflected his charm. Extensive collaboration with Peanuts ensured alignment with their strict guidelines, pleasing both brands' directors and capturing Snoopy's essence in the designs.
OUTCOME
The collection impressed directors from Cath Kidston and Peanuts by successfully meeting brand guidelines. It delighted customers with nostalgic and playful designs that captured the essence of both brands. Integrating characters into archive florals showcased collaboration and attention to detail. The collection achieved great sales and extensive media coverage, highlighting the power of merging brand identities.
INITIAL DESIGN PROCESS
In the Snoopy collection's design process, Peanuts provided character options in different poses. Together, we created mood boards to determine the color palette, mood, and theme. We explored our archive for suitable prints and worked independently on assigned designs. Regular group meetings maintained cohesiveness. Designs evolved from hand-drawn sketches to refined versions in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, meticulously bringing the vision to life.
